gnome NetworkManager-0.6.0-0.6.1 + trendnet tew-229ub usb wireless.
New to linux and I installed current debian on old laptop with dell truemoble 1150 wireless connected and working fine. Only problem was I had to change router encryption wpa to wep for some reason. I cannot connect using trendnet tew-229ub usb wireless , It this possible and if yes what do I need to do?
should I upgrade the gnome network mgr to the current release ?
I noticed an icon running on the bottom left on systray and it is the NetworkManager-0.6.0-0.6. and it has (not connected symbol). I assume it is saying the wired connection is not connected but it does not say the wireless is connected or does not show my wireless router dlink.
I see the current version is 0.7.0 but synaptic does not have it .
How can I do it ? remember I am new to linux
