    Linux version of Photoshop?

I have Adobe PhotoDeluxe for Windows. I love editing photos with it. I was hoping to find a Linux version. My computer's a dinosaur, so running PhotoDeluxe through WINE would be a bad idea. Does anyone know of an open-source version of Photoshop that'll run on Linux?

I think Gimp is probably the closest thing to Photoshop for Linux.

You can find some other possible options here:

That's what I was afraid of. GIMP runs slower than snails on tranquilizers on my computer, and as of late the "layers" and another window stay on top of everything else. I haven't been able to find a "always on top" option to deselect, yet they're always on top. It makes it really hard to edit my image because I usually can't see my image.
