VLC - I have audio but not video from online tv
Hello to everybody
I have a little question
i want to play "streamed" videos from internet, i mean, i want to "tune" a online tv channel which uses a playlist file, some similar to list files on webpages of internet radio stations...
i can tune the channel, i have audio, but not video, also i can tune internet radio stations using ShoutCast.
I have Debian AMD64 5.0 Lenny (netinstall) and VLC 8.0.6h installed from official repositories.
"apt-get install vlc mozilla-plugin-vlc"
i don't know if i have a video plugin missing, i must to install VLC from other repository (adding it on sources.list)
(i'm able to play common audio and video files)
i will appreciate any tip or suggestion
Thanks for advance (i dont know if this is correct, well written...)
See you

I think VLC in the regular debian repos is compiled without some proprietary codecs. I think there is a fuller-featured version in the debian multimedia repos.

I already have used that repos, i used canadian an brazilian repos...
i added to souces.list and updated, but when i installed the pachages, the official repos where used and the version installed of VLC was the same...
i must to comment all the official repos and keep uncomented the multimedia ones???
(also i checked the packages list for AMD64 and didn't see VLC in the list)
i will test in the afternoon
thanks again...
see you
