For downloading Debian Sarge, what is the right option for my PC?

IA64 is for Itanium architecture and will not work on your PC.

    * According to the Sarge download page, there is no 64 bit version for Debian 3 (Sarge). You would need to move up to at least Debian 4 (Etch) although Debian 5 (Lenny) is the latest.

AMD64 and Intel Core 2 computers can run either i386/486/586/686 or X86_64. The first is 32-bit, the second is 64-bit. Both will run with similar performance on an AMD64.
