I just installed debian 5 (code named lenny) on a pentium PC with an AO motherboard. I have a d-link adapter connected. The router is on another computer in the same room. I have three computers in one room. With windows XP the d-link adapter works fine and I can access the internet. I have a dual boot set up. When I boot into debian 5, it does not detect the wireless network. I cannot access the internet. In the mepis distribution of linux it detected my network without a hitch. How can I get debian to recognize my wireless network. Do I have to install a d-link adapter driver? I didn't have to do that with mepis. My adapter is WUA -1340. Do I have to add a module to the kernel? I did download some supposed linux drivers from the dlink site but dont know what to do with them.
