    unable to boot installed lenny and any other live cd


    i had mandriva 2009 installed in my system eveything was fine till i installed a new graphics card xfx nvidia gts250 ia pci express
    my motherboard in intel 946giz

    i was able to change it to lenny which got installed perfectly.

    but when i boot in linux it goes into an infinte loop giving me call trace and all

    i tried sabayon 4 and suse11.1 live cds but was not able to boot into their live cd envirement

    kindly help

    if you were using an onboard graphics chip before have you disabled it in the bios

    yes i disabled it from the bios

    and the error im getting is same msg repeated with increasing numbers on left
    someone suggested it was kernel panic

    can you boot into anything at all like windows?
    check the card is seated properly in the mb and does it have enough power,modern video chips can be demanding on power and some need an extra power connection.
    does the problem go away if the card is removed?
    could be a fault on the card

    im using windows only now
    wasnt able to boot into my linux at all
