ntfs-3g in which debian iso image
would anyone know if ntfs-3g package is in one the downloadable iso images for debian? either in etch / lenny...
i have read somewhere that the ntfs-3g package is not part of the packages for etch... i would think that it should be pretty much common use already...
i'm still downloading at a very slow rate, so i couldn't check,
if someone out there knows the particular cd / dvd to download for this package, that saves me time, and bandwidth for the mirrors...

FAQ - Which CD/DVD image contains package XYZ?
Search > ntfs-3g i386 > CD5
The fastest way to install it would be with apt:
Code:apt-get install ntfs-3g

heyy... that was great help, many thanks
as suspected, etch does not have the package,
good thing i'm downloading lenny now, but i'm a bit
sentimental about etch, and it sounds like a better
name than lenny...
curiously, the quick reply doesn't work **

You can download packages in any machine having internet access and install those in home machine.
Check here for instructions. Just replace upgrade with install <package_name> in all commands. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
