newbie: which OS to install
I am going to setup a Linux OS on a virtual server, and I am not sure which one to use. It is stricktly for LAMP work, and it will be used eventually to house cloud services for non profits. I have quite a few OS's to choose from, but would someone suggest which would be the best for my needs.
Remember I am very new to this. So far I have setup Debian 4.0 on my system with Wine so that I could install a few flavors of IE and a few other odds and ends.
I have used it to code a little with bluefish, but that is all I have done so far.
I have a great many tech books to read up on, but they suggested that I plug in here and get some feed back.
any insight would be greatly appreciated
Thank You

Life is too short to struggle with a difficult server type distro unless you enjoy a punishing learning process as some of us do. I'd go with an Ubuntu server. There is loads of documentation for the setup, and a large, active and helpful community should you run into issues.
