    Question Won't boot following install

Hi, I'm exploring Debian for the first time but not getting far. I want to run it on an MSI Wind with 2GB RAM on VirtualBox. Virtual machine with 4GB hard-drive and 256MB RAM. LVM partition with /home on a separate partition. In install options selected standard system to be installed only.

Unfortunately during boot up it stops at [1.820031] Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt.

I'm not sure if the problem is the MSI Wind, or Virtual Box, or Debian?

    Many thanks

It seems to be related to RAM. A few suggestions: Could one of your memory cards be faulty? Have you tried increasing the available RAM? Alternatively, have you tried another linux distribution - perhaps a live CD/DVD?
