    File sharing problems

    Hi,
    I have a new install of Lenny.
    With my previous install I had no problems with file sharing.
    With the new install I have installed;
    Samba, samba-common, smbclient and smbfs, as I had with the previous install.

    Now when I try to share, the share icon (is it a hand holding a file?) doesn't appear.
    If I use System > Admin > Shared Folders and select the folder/file to share and click out and then back in then the file I just selected to share isn't there.

    From my other computer (Ubuntu) I can access the Debian computer through Network and I get $print, so the computers are talking to each other, I just can't seem to nominate files to share.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    I don't use samba much, so I can't give specific help, but Debian to my knowledge doesn't preconfigure it the way Ubuntu does. Have you edited /etc/samba/smb.conf properly?
