Install libc6 with your package manager.

If you want to install a newer kernel-image you can use your Synaptic Package Manager open it and do a search for linux-image find the newest one for your system install it you will need to reboot. On reboot your grub menu will list the new kernel. If you can't find the kernel you need go to the Debian site and search in packages go to testing or unstable and find the image.deb file and download it and install that with dpkg -i filename. Also download the linux-header files to match the linux-image file.
