    Choppy audio

When playing video, from time to time, my audio starts producing weird/broken/choppy sounds, but if I pause and then resume that fixes it. It's a very irritating problem, and it happens in games too.

You could try reconfiguring your audio using
    Code:
    alsaconf
not sure if this would help or not.

Tried it, but it didn't help fix my problem, audio broke 1 minute after alsaconf.

When alsaconf asked me which sound card to use I chose snd-hda-intel (the other choice was 'legacy'). I think my sound card is Intel. I'll post the output of "lspci -v", in case it's needed.

I get a problem with the sound getting very wierd - but it always takes time to develop. Have never managed to fix it I'm afraid. Only happens with the radio which plays out through arecord and aplay, I think, or it may be sox.

Are you using KDE? The control centre sound thing has all sorts of important stuff that it is easy to overlook, you could fiddle about with this. Have always assumed it has something to do with buffering.

If using arts try putting 'artsdsp' in front of any comand, this makes the thing use arts.

Try actually wiring the TV card say to the sound card; either inside or outside the box.

    Try using oss emulation.
