    Kernel Panic - Not syncing: Attempted to kill init

    Hi All,

    I'm very new to this forum and linux but am hoping someone maybe able to help.

    I have the following VMware virtual machine:
    - Debian Lenny with kernel 2.6.23.17

    This VM works perfectly when booting with VMware player etc. The problem comes when I try convert the VM into a Hyper V VM.

    I followed the following steps;
    -Removed VMware Tools
    -Shut down the VM
    -Used the vmdktovhd utility to convert the VM
    -Then created a new VM in Hyper V with a legacy network adapter
    -started the new Hyper V VM up and get the Kernel panic error (see attached)

    Does anyone have any similair experiences or help that maybe able to get this working?

    Thanks in advance
    Doug
