DHCPDISCOVER error
Hi,
When i set a password for my wireless internet, i cant join. I can join two ways (i dont understand what the difference is:S). Either "location area connection", when i try that the log comes up with:
Configuring interface eth0=lan1 (inet)
run-parts --verbose /etc/network/if-pre-up.d
ifconfig $IFACE up
dhclient3 -cf /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.$LOGICAL.conf -pf /var/run/dhclient.$IFACE.pid -lf /var/run/dhclient.$IFACE.leases $IFACE

run-parts --verbose /etc/network/if-up.d
or i can join the saved wireless connection, "Zyxel Wireless Connection", and then it comes up with:
Configuring interface ath0=lan4 (inet)
dhclient3 -r -pf /var/run/dhclient.$IFACE.pid -lf /var/run/dhclient.$IFACE.leases $IFACE
There is already a pid file /var/run/dhclient.ath0.pid with pid 31306
killed old client process, removed PID file

I dont understand:S what's the difference between eth0 and ath0? If i take the password off (i set a password WPA2-PSK) and change it to no security, then go through the start- stop process you described, eraker, then it works again. But i really need the password, as without m internet is sooo slow im sure somebody's stealing it.
I recognise some parts of the log. 192.168.1.1 is the address of the router where i needed to set the password.
is 00:15:af:c6:c9:b1 the mac address of my computer?
Please tell me you know how to solve this
thank you,
becky
