    panel problem

    Since I don't know the name of the gnome panel, I can't help you there, but if you try entering its name it might run.

    Sir,
    actually on my Desktop I have no "run command".
    Only icons on my desktop are "create new,undo :trash, paste clipboard contents, icons, refresh desktop, appearance setting,folder view setting, add widgets, zoom out, lock widgets
    I cant see the "terminal" also.
    so please suggest me how can I proceed.

    I think your post was moved from somewhere else, so I don't know the context here. Can you re-ask your question?

    If you're looking to run the gnome panel it is called just gnome-panel.

    ALT+F2 opens a run dialogue in either KDE, GNOME, or XFCE by default. (And I think LXDE.)

    From the description it sounds as if you are using KDE4. Use Alt F2 to bring up the run command dialog box as directed by reed9 and type the command that you want to run and press enter.
