Question [SOLVED] Newbie Partitioning for a Dual-Boot

Hello. I have a pc with WindowsXP with a 2GHz Intel processor and a 30GB hard drive and 1.25GB of ram. My graphics are Intel 82845G/GL. I would like to set up my machine for a dual-boot with Debian and XP.

Should I repartition first within Windows using Partition Magic to create the free space or should I wait for the Debian Installer to do the job?

Defragment your xp partition then resize it. After that I doubt it makes much difference if you use Partition Magic or Debian partition editor. Never used Partition Magic and am not familiar with it.

I wouldn't recommend using Partition Magic, but would recommend Parted Magic instead:

    Parted Magic LiveCD
