New Hardware Question... New Motherboard for Linux
Hello,
I will be getting a new system for Linux today... Any suggestions as to MOBO? Will be running Deb, and Gnome. Would like a MOBO that is supported out of the box... Is there a list of MOBO's and support issues anyplace, that one can trust? Not looking for a super fast system, just one that has support for most components, and is stable... Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks!!
Dave

Most new motherboards on the market will work with Linux. The exception might be something that has been released in just the last few weeks. The kernel devs update the Linux kernel often and most drivers are included within the kernel. The main problem some users have is with wireless drivers for onboard devices, so you might want to check that with any new mobo that you are considering. Even then, those users are generally able to get past that hurdle pretty quickly.
That said, I've good luck in the past with ASUS, Gigabyte, and EVGA motherboards.oz
