    Question on download Acrobat Reader

    Hi folks,

    Debian 5.0 32bit
    Iceweasel 3.0.6

    On browsing a document on a website it popup;
    Code:
    Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 (with Asian Font pack installed) or above is required for viewing this document. Please install the required software.
    I couldn't find its package is on repo

    Adobe Reader
    Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions

    Pls advise which package shall I download? Where shall I retain the package to install so that it can be detected on browsing? TIA

    AFAIK there need no such thing as Adobe Acrobat Reader for linux. There are several good alternatives. Look in synaptic for Evince or xpdf.

    There is actually. It's not open source, however, so Debian doesn't distribute it. You can get it through the 3rd party debian-multimedia repository, though.

    Enable that in your sources.list. The package is called acroread.

    However, I support using open source alternatives, like evince, epdfview, or xpdf.
