[SOLVED] Cannot fin the pipe key on a lenovo Laptop

    Hi,

I'm new to Linux and I'm still trying to make my linux work on an external drive. I think I have found how, but I need to use the pipe symbol in a command line and I don't have it on my keyboard.

I've tried different settings for my keyboard and different language, but nothing seems to do; I try all the keys, with shift or alt, but nothing works.

I'm working on Debian, Lenny, with a Lenovo 3000 v100 Laptop. Nowhere on my keyboard do I have the symbol I am looking for. I have the vertical bar divided in two, but not the continous one.

Do I need somehow to remap my keyboard or add a function to a key?

Please, I need help. And if you answer, please assume that I am the ultimate linux beginner.

That split vertical bar is likely the pipe key.
