Clean Dsl Install
Hey all. I'm new to linux and want to install DSL on my Fujitzu Siemens, Pentium 3 with 128mb ram. its running win xp at the mo but i want to wipe windows and just have dsl on hard drive as the only os.
Heres my prob tho. CD drive doesnt work and BIOS cant boot from usb.
I am bout 4 hours tryn to get usb to work and even tryed rawrite32 to no avail
PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!

thanks for help ozar. Did a hard drive install using unetbootin but when i try to run it it says
"cant find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry.
Dropping you to a (very limeted) shell"
it also sez
"ACPI-0179: *** Warning: The ACPI AML in your computer contains errors, please nag the manufacturer to correct it." i like his style!!
Ne ideas?

Just curious. You meet the minimum requirents to install the latest Puppy 4.31. And if you have a floppy drive (not familiar with your laptop) you can make a pup find floppy to boot from USB.
You can use Unetbootin with Puppy also. I have installed Macpup Foxy using unetbootin on my Asus EEE PC. I made a live usb with unetbootin on another computer. The asus has usb support. Here below is my virgin attempt today to come up for just a situation like this. It is going to be a work in progress though.

If you read through the thread. You will see I had the same symptoms as you trying to get this to work. Like I said. It was just started today and is going to be a work in progress.
Another Option is Installing Debian GNU/Linux via the Internet which is at light as you wish to make it.Linux Registered User # 475019
