    Problem on browsing Chinese websites

    Hi folks,

    host - ubuntu 9.10
    virtualizer - Sun VirtualBox
    VM (guest) - Debian 5.04
    Web Browser 2.22.3

    On browsing Internet some websites VM displays codes. I suppose they are Chinese websites. Please advise how to fix the problem. TIA

    I have another VM running ubuntu 9.10. It has no problem browsing Chinese website.

    It sounds like you don't have the corresponding fonts installed. I'm not an (active) Debian user, but googling for "chinese debian mini howto" might be of some help to you (sorry, LinuxForums doesn't trust me yet, so no links ).

    Thanks for your advice.

    Problem already solved after running;
    $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales

    and installing some Chinese fonts.
