Depends on the text editor you're using. With nano, you save with CTRL+x. The text editor does need to to be opened as root.

    Alternately, you can do this
    Code:
    su -
    echo "###### Debian Main Repos
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ lenny main contrib non-free
    deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ lenny main contrib non-free

    ###### Debian Update Repos
    deb http://security.debian.org/ lenny/updates main contrib non-free
    deb http://volatile.debian.org/debian-volatile lenny/volatile main contrib non-free
    deb-src http://security.debian.org/ lenny/updates main contrib non-free
    deb-src http://volatile.debian.org/debian-volatile lenny/volatile main contrib non-free" > /etc/apt/sources.list
