[Deb-Testing] Suspend to ram
i can't seem to return from a suspend-to-ram. i checked pm-suspend.log and the suspend seems like it happened correctly. but i must preform a hard reset to cut the computer back on. my monitor just shows a blinking prompt.
pm-suspend.log

Firstly, I am not used to Debian, I'm on Mandriva.
I presume that you are using the pm-suspend facility.
I had similar problems on my laptop and I can only share how I resolved it. There can be many reasons for a failed resume and the following might not necessarily resolve your problem.
I added the attached file 90chvt which I copied from a previous version of pm-suspend in /usr/lib64/pm-utils/sleep.d. 90chvt has been slightly modified to force usage of VT7 after resume, it's the default VT in Mandriva. Next, I disabled clock sync during resume. Create a file, the name doesn't matter, in /etc/pm/config.d containing. You may also addCode:NEED_CLOCK_SYNC="false"
in that file to debug your problem further if nothing works.Code:PM_DEBUG="true"
Good luck !
