What type of fonts are you looking for? Truetype or the default set?

If you've installed x-window-system, some font packages such as xfonts-75dpi and xfonts-100dpi should have been added.

If you install progs with apt-get or similar apt-get compatible package manager then the X fonts should have been installed with X.
Try to get the fonts seperately.
    Code:
    apt-get install x-fonts-100dpi x-fonts-75dpi
