Hey all.

I purchased a 'VE' server from mediatemple.net. It is a barebone install with JUST the OS (which in this case is the newest build of Debian). I have had to install everything from the ground up.

Now, I was told by my provider that the install did not come with a firewall. So, I was recommended Firehol by a friend, but the documentation is way over my head.

I am just trying to get 2 ports open and put a listener out there for both ports.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? I am not sure how complex of a process it is. So, if anyone has a dumb-dumb tutorial link for me on Firehol and how to create open/listening ports, it would be greatly appreciated!
