/usr/share/backgrounds or /usr/share/wallpapers
Can't remember which in 5.04. I am running Squeeze in AntiX which is /usr/share/wallpapers..Linux Registered User # 475019
Lead,Follow, or get the heck out of the way

I don't really care for the default wallpapers that come with Debian. But to each his own. So why don't you create a folder, name it 'wallpaper' and download your favorites to it. When you want to change the desktop, go to it and add them.
By the way, the new folder you add is in 'user' (your desktop).

Thanks for your advice. What I'm looking for is the directory/folder holding the wallpaper/pictures found on;
Desktop -> right click -> Change desktop background -> Background

I've not used Debian proper, but they would have to be somewhere in /usr/share.
Try this:Look through the listing, something will probably grab your attention.Code:ls /usr/share

The wallpaper settings in Gnome/KDE use /usr/share/wallpapers you can also have it use wallpapers from your /home.
