    Kernel 2.6.9 Panic

    So i'm using Knoppix in a hard drive installed configuration and I installed the 2.6.9 kernel. It starts to boot up but right in the beginning it says the sconsole doesn't exist and dies with a kernel panic. Any ideas? I'm still rather new to linux in general so be gentle.

    something got messed up in the actual file system

    what file system do you use (ext2, ext3, reiserfs, xfs, jfs)?

    hallo

    i had the same probleme 1 mounth ago

    i think that you must modifie the position of the jumper (perhaps the pb beacame of that) or on your lilo boot you must modifie the hdd

    Ex: in the lilo you must edit it and in the place of (hdd10) you put (hdc10) and modifie that in your fstab in the /etc when you boot succesfully
