Unfortunately it's ati mobile: radeon xpress 200m. I had searched in the package manager for all ati related and it shows xf86-video-ati.(vers num). That should be the one right?...

    How about:

    Finding the log file for Xorg:
    Code:
    $ locate Xorg.0.log
    /var/log/Xorg.0.log
    Then find out which modules are loaded:
    Code:
    $ grep -i LoadModule /var/log/Xorg.0.log
    [    46.006] (II) LoadModule: "extmod"
    [    46.094] (II) LoadModule: "dbe"
    [    46.095] (II) LoadModule: "glx"
    [    46.340] (II) LoadModule: "record"
    [    46.344] (II) LoadModule: "dri"
    [    46.365] (II) LoadModule: "dri2"
    [    46.371] (II) LoadModule: "intel"
    [    46.464] (II) LoadModule: "vesa"
    [    46.476] (II) LoadModule: "fbdev"
    [    46.602] (II) LoadModule: "fbdevhw"
    [    47.236] (II) LoadModule: "fb"
    [    47.247] (II) UnloadModule: "vesa"
    [    47.248] (II) UnloadModule: "fbdev"
    [    47.248] (II) UnloadModule: "fbdevhw"
    [    47.771] (II) LoadModule: "evdev"
    vesa, fbdev, fbdevhw are unloaded, the lot are generic modules except for "intel". And indeed my motherboard has an Intel graphics adapter.

    You may want to fiddle around with 'lsmod' and 'grep' to find kernel modules in use:
    Code:
    $ lsmod | grep video
    video                  22176  1 i915
    output                  2527  1 video
    i915 looks promising (it is the name of the chipset) so check that next
    Code:
    $ lsmod | grep i915
    i915                  330249  4
    drm_kms_helper         32836  1 i915
    drm                   206161  5 i915,drm_kms_helper
    i2c_algo_bit            6208  1 i915
    video                  22176  1 i915
    intel_agp              32080  2 i915

    Yea mine showed ati and radeon. lsmod | grep video did absolutely nothing though.
