hi guys i am running a acer aspire 5742 64bits on debian 6 squeeze listen guys i need to disable this touchpad is driving me crazy while am typing will appreciate any help thanks in advance

You can (normally) do that in BIOS. That way, the kernel won't "see" the touchpad at all and you don't have to fiddle around with drivers and crazy configs to get it sorted
