Hi All,

Somewhat of a linux noob here, but I am wanting to setup an ftp server like so:


folder structure (on disk)

admin account would have full access to read/write/delete anything.
customer accounts would have access to read and download only.

Ideally, admin could login and see folder called updates and folder for each customer.

when customer logs in, they would see an updates folder (symlink maybe?) and a custom folder.

the updates folder would be a central folder for all users where admin could upload files for customers to pull. Inside each customers "custom" folder would be files specific to each customer.

I am wanting to setup everything very conventional so that a bash script could be made to add new users to this setup, or deactivate users.

I have no preference on what ftp server to use, server base is on squeeze though.

Any help would much appreciated.
