I have recently installed Debian 6.0

I can't install a bin file
I have recently installed Debian 6.0
Tried to install a program ,but I could not do it.
The prog is called IOmeter (sorry, can't link it)
I hav also tried the " sudo apt-get install command i the terminal.
I'am a newbie ...in Linux
Btw it's easy to install the prog in Windows.

The project seems abandoned.
Last version is from 2006.
This is why it is not part of debian any more. (If it ever was, haven´t checked that)
And while it might be possible to compile it on a recent linux, it probably requires code changes.
fio can be used.
Developed and maintained by Jens Axboe, the Linux kernel maintainer of the block layer and other block devices.

have you tried what this site says How to Install a BIN File in Ubuntu Linux | eHow.com? its for ubuntu, but should work for debian as well.
