apt-get keeps pegging CPU
I keep finding apt-get is running and using 97% of the CPU. I can't find why it's running, and have no idea why it's hanging.
The command line is "apt-get update".
I originally assumed that it has something to do with automatic updates, but I've not found any setting that prevents that from happening, and the update thing on the status bar at the top works just fine.

try "sudo apt-get update"
Then "sudo apt-get upgrade"
The upgrade part will work as automatic update...

This is a "feature" of Ubuntu's, but it's only support to take a minute to complete. If I recall, under Startup Applications in the Preferences menu, you should be able to uncheck "Update Notifier", to disable.
