How can I use my hardrive partitions in xubuntu 10.04?

I have installed the xubuntu 10.04.2 recently. But I can't find my drives in the media or any other places. But I have data in those drives. I have to use a flash drive to use those data because it can detect the flash drive. So what I do is I start windows OS (to use the local disks D and E) and save my necessary files in flash drive and only then I can use them. Would anyone please help me solve my problems.

    More Info if necessary:
    Disk Type: Local disk
    File System: NTFS

How did you install xubuntu? Did you install it on its own partition? Did you install it inside your windows partition, a wubi type install.

But I can't find my drives in the media or any other places.
Don't know what you mean by that. What media? Are you able to boot xubuntu at all? You refer to local disks D and E, are these separate physical hard drives or just partitions? I notice you show the filesystem type as ntfs, Linux won't run on ntfs anymore that windows will run on a Linux filesystem.

So, can you boot xubuntu? Can you boot windows? What version of windows do you have? Did you install xubuntu on a separate partition or inside windows? Post your drive/partition information. If you don't know how to get it from xubuntu, post back.
