    Undo apt package keeps?

    Hello,

While doing some upgrading with aptitude I was met with some packages that were suggested to be kept at the current version because of some unresolved dependencies with the new versions.

I accidentally accepted this "solution". I actually intended to resolve the broken dependencies.

However now these packages are gone from the problems list, and I don't remember which packages they were.
Is there a way to make apt forget about these "keep at current version" directives?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello and welcome!

You can check /var/log/aptitude to see which pkgs were installed, maybe reconstruct what you did. The info's also in /var/log/apt/history.log in a different format. A less than likely possibility might be the aptitude menu under Search > Find broken

It might be possible to do a general setting for that but there's pluses and minuses. Setting the pkg mgr to _not_ resolve dependencies, leaving it entirely up to you, could be more trouble than its worth. If you wanna check anyway, see the man pages for apt.conf and aptitude. The /etc/apt/apt.conf file is for custom settings in aptitude.
