    System won't boot

I am using Debian Squeeze 64bit, and have loaded a printer driver for my Brother MFC J265w, however now when I boot the system fails, when using normal boot the system just appears to stop. However using Admin login and pressing CTL-D to con tinue I get a message scrollng continuously at the topof the screen tha say's "lp: Driver loaded but no device found brother"

I have 2 questions regarding this.

    1) How can I get into my system to fix the problem ?
    2) What do I need to do to make my system work ?

    Your help is much appreciated.

Do you get the error message with the printer plugged in and turned on? If you haven't done that, try it as it might enable you to boot. Won't solve your problem. I don't use Debian and am not very familiar with printer configuration but I'm sure someone else will come along with advice.

Try to get a liveCD, boot from it, mount the / partition and just manually remove anything related to that printer

Put you're root's password and after that try checking your filesystem using the fsck command (be carefull you should NEVER use that command when the partitions are mounted it'll destroy your files).

So I think it's just a small problem with the filesystem you've to do fsck /dev/sdXX where XX are the identifiers of your disk and partition number. After that the system should work well.

The printer is a wireless network printer

I'm not really sure now what your setup is. Did you configure/setup the printer after installing the driver? A network printer connected to your computer, another computer on the network?
