    flash and firefox updates

    Hi I am trying to update my flash and my firefox to latest versions, can anyone help? When I try to update I get a message saying "A recommended security and stabilty update is available but you do not have the system permissions required to install it" Also can you tell me how to open the terminal that allows copy and paste feature please : ) Could you break it down for me as I am not too good with all the linux jargon

    Hello and Welcome!

    I've not used Debian proper, just several derivatives of it.
    As far as the permissions error, though, you should just need to enter the root password for authentication.
    You should be able to do this with a GUI package Manager, or from the terminal.
    That brings us to copy and paste in terminal. Most of the terminals that I've used can copy-paste with Ctrl+Shift+c and Ctrl+Shift+v, respectively.
