    Lightbulb terminal problems

    Hello everyone,
    well I'm totally new to Debian linux and not very good user of Linux Distributed OSs ... well I did Debian coz i want to learn more, now here is the problem that im having.....

    when I open the terminal at first sight, the keyboard works perfectly I can write everything, but when I write (su) and press (enter) to enter (root privilege) is when the trouble starts, the keyboard does not work, I can not write (login and password ) I can not write anything. also occurs in (repair mode when i boot).
    Please some help

    I have install Elive 2.0 Topaz on
    Acer Aspire 3690-2672
    Intel Celeron M processor 420
    (1.6 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache)
    15.0'' XGA LCD
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    60GB HDD
    2 GB DDR2
    802.11b/g wireless LAN

    Hello and welcome!

    I'm pretty sure that your keyboard is still working. It's just that Linux does NOT echo password characters to the screen, so you'll need to type out the password just as if it were showing up on the screen, then press ENTER.
