Squeeze + Intel 3945 need help

I have just install Squeeze on my laptop which have internal wifi Intel 3945abg. I could not make my wlan0 up and running by giving command :

    #ifup wlan0
    Ignoring unknown interface wlan0=wlan0

Painstakingly, i tried any means of configuring my wifi manually and still could not make it run. In the end I install Network Manager but it could not connect anywhere. The status of my Wireless Network always disconnected.

Somewhere on the Internet i read that the driver for Intel 3945 (iwl3945) is a crap and so many person had the same problem. They said rather than using iwl3945 it is better to use ipw3945 driver.

Is there anyone have tried to install ipw3945 driver on the Squeeze ?
