GUI problem with Debain test version

    Hai,
I have installed Debian (test version) and I cannot see the graphical interface. I did a minimal install from Debian CD and over the network and for some reason tasksel did not work for me. I therefore installed x-window-system later using apt-get. Now when I start "startx" I am getting a silver color blank display. I looked at XF86 file and I see it recognized my graphics card ATI mobility radeon but I dont understand why I can't see the GUI.

My laptop is a Sony vaio, graphics card is ATI mobility radeon 9200.

I am new to linux, can anyone help me in fixing my gui working.

    thanks
    sunil

    okay:
first did you install any sort of display manager? (i.e. xdm, gdm, kdm?)
second, did you install any sort of window manager/desktop environment? (i.e. gnome, kde, fluxbox, etc.)
