    wine + amd64

i moved from a 2.6.32-5-868 to the amd64 kernel. installed nvidia the debian way with module assistant. other kernel works fine. i read i could install the nvidia-glx-ia32 drivers in a chroot of another installation. but it still runs off my amd kernel and there is no way to install the 32 libs there.

    err:d3d_caps:WineD3D_CreateFakeGLContext Can't find a suitable iPixelFormat.
err:d3d:InitAdapters Failed to get a gl context for default adapter
Direct3D9 is not available without OpenGL.
err:winediag:X11DRV_WineGL_InitOpenglInfo Direct rendering is disabled, most likely your OpenGL drivers haven't been installed correctly

i know youll want to say i dont have opengl.
    glxgears works fine.

    direct rendering: Yes
    2.6.32-5-amd64

    in /usr/lib i have
    libGL.so.1
    in /usr/lib32 i have
    libGL.so.1
    libGL.so.1.2
    in /usr/lib64 i have
    libGLcore.so.1
    libGL.so.1
    libGLU.so.1

i dont know if wine is 32 or 64 bit. everywhere states there is only a 32 bit release. any ideas of what i can do? or how i can get my games to work.
i can run cairo-dock with opengl.

    xorg has:
    Section "Module"
    Load "glx"
    EndSection

ive tried running the game with -opengl and -d3d neither work.
i edited the config.wtf with SET gxAPI "OpenGL"

lib32-nvidia-utils package doesnt existi n the debian db. nothing with lib32 will show up with apt-get or synatic.

Having direct rendering does not mean having hardware accelerated opengl...

Also why did you install i386 and then switch to an amd64 kernel? There are few occasions where a 64 bit kernel and 32 bit userland are useful. If you want 64 bit, install 64 bit debian from the off.

whoa forgot about this been busy. well i have an amd64 cpu and wanted to utilize its capabilities. i dunno why i originally installed a 32 bit kernel. and i did install 64 bit from a netinst cd to a different hd. i can boot up into either of the installations so i have both userlands. xD
