    I would like to tighten my security

    Any advice on how i can tighten my security against www
    im not so familiar with linux but learning more each day.

    i'm running debian 6.0.3 squeeze with just one nic connected to internet. And i've use it for learning purposes.

    im also curious about the so called system policy settings and how to tweak them. Any one with any advice or suggestions..

    Tighten security standards

    National Vulnerability Database (NVD) National Checklist Program Repository

    I would suggest going to the NIST site and searching for what you are looking for and go from there.

    This is the best place gain guidance on securing your machine.
