MSI N580GTX Twin Frozr II Graphics card compatibility with Debian
Hey All,
I'm putting together a computer, and I plan to use the Debian distribution of linux for my operating system.
I have purchased the N580GTX Twin Frozr graphics card, but I'm a bit confused on the compatibility. The user manual specifies a Windows operating system, but when I called tech support, they said that that statement only means that the card has only been tested on a Windows operating system, so that is the only one that it is certified for, it could work, and it might not for linux...
I'd be all for tinkering until it works, but this is a $580 piece of equipment, so I'm sure you can see my hesitation.
Has anyone either tried this graphics card (or one like it) or know how I could get this card to work on a linux operating system? Any help would be great.

Hello and welcome!
I've not used that card so can't say for certain but nVidia's website definitely shows that their current Linux driver (290.1) supports the GTX580 and other similar high-end GTX cards:
Graphics Driver - Linux x64 (AMD64/EM64T) Display Driver - GeForce
The GTX580 is listed about half way down the page.oz
