    Change Screen Resolution on Asus eee PC 1000h to 1024x768

    Hello, noob here but getting my hands around debian squeeze on several of my machines.

    I am currently trying to configure my netbook as a travel laptop. Everything is working great except the default screen resolution cannot be changed from 1024x600. This setting cuts off the bottoms of many application boxes (yes, I know you can alt, click drag to raise them but it's a pain.)

    In Windows I could change the settings to 1024x768, either full, which looked a little funky, or as a scrolling window, which is fine once you get used to it.

    I have Googled this and tried every possible solution I could find, including creating the file /etc/grub.d/01_915resolution, and then editing grub, as well as installing xrandr and arandr, all to no avail.

    Does anyone have a suggestion if there is anything I can do?

    Thanks.

    $ xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1024x768_60.00
