    is your network up and are your interfaces up. if so can you ping your gateway. if you can hit the gateway can you ping yahoo.com, if it does not resolve check you /etc/resolv.conf file make sure you have at least one nameserver listed.
    if not edit the /etc/network/interfaces file and add the dns-nameservers ipaddress save the file and restart your interface.
