Want to reinstall from backports
Using Debian Squeeze.
I installed the esr version of Iceweasel from backports. I won't open sinse my last update. I am trying to reinstall it but got this error:
This is my sources.list entry for backportsroot@Squeeze:~# aptitude -t squeeze-backports reinstall iceweasel
The following packages will be REINSTALLED:
iceweasel
0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 reinstalled, 0 to remove and 102 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B of archives. After unpacking 0 B will be used.
E: I wasn't able to locate file for the iceweasel package. This might mean you need to manually fix this package.
E: I wasn't able to locate file for the iceweasel package. This might mean you need to manually fix this package.
E: Internal error: couldn't generate list of packages to download
Not not familiar with the syntax of using aptitude to search directories like backports: searching for packages or reinstalling.deb Index of /debian-backports squeeze-backports main
Thanks for help in resolving this.

Hi
Have you tried :
apt-get remove iceweasel
(wait a few seconds)
then
apt-get install iceweasel ?

I see that I'm late on this but you might want to backup your profile(s) too. /home/USER_NAME/.mozilla/firefox/FOLDERS
