Hello all I just installed Debian on my computer no other os's,and trying to setup dual monitors. As of now I have mirrored displays on both monitors,I would like to have an extended desktop on the second monitor. I am using onboard intel graphics one output is vga the second dvi. I have been googling and think this needs to be done with xrandr however for some reason it shows I only have one monitor.Any help would be most appreciated. In the display section of system settings in kde(4.4.5) I only show one monitor when I click the multiple monitors I get the message:
This module is only for configuring systems with a single desktop spread across multiple monitors. You do not appear to have this configuration. There is no check box to enable multiple monitors.I also do not appear to have an xorg.conf file.
