    lvm passphase and startup

When I start my server during the bootup process it asks for a lvm passphase before continuing. Not a huge problem if I am sitting in front of my server and it has a head but what if the server goes headless or I need to restart it remotely? Is there any way to get the server to do a complete startup without waiting on user/admin input?

Don't you mean that you have an encrypted filesystem within the LVM as a logical volume. If booting is to automatically enter the password, what good is having an encrypted filesystem (as booting would expose it)?

I guess choosing this option was a mistake for my needs then, thanks.
