If it's LMDE then it won't be compatible with the Ubuntu drivers or at least they are extremely unlikely to be. Does LMDE come with ddm (device driver manager) which identifies and install graphics drivers for you. (Solidxy which is a fork of LMDE does)

Hello, is there anything wronfg with currento OOTB drivers? Or is it that they do not take advantage of the core's GPU properly?

I have a Intel GMA500 (or so) on my netbook and it worked fine. on the other hand, I do not need excessive graphis rendering and perhaps you do.
