    Cant get my sound to work


    Things i have tried

    1) I added myself to the audio group
    2) unmuted master in alsamixter
    3) speaker-test -c 2 OR speaker-test -c 8 made sure its not muted on laptop through hard switch

    could be outdated alsa/kernel drivers, maybe. what is your distro rel. and kernel version?

    do you know the sound to work on another OS on the PC?

    the weirdest thing... i turn on the laptop today and it's working.

    I haven't done anything to it since i posted this.

    perhaps the system auto-updated the kernel or alsa packages, and hadn't been rebooted yet? just a guess...

    Maybe bit i restarted multiple times before. Oh well its working now.
