    Linux on a 32bits sun sparc1

    Hi to all,
I'm new to non windows and non pc based computing. Still, I want to install a linux on a sparc 1, 32bits that I recuperated from school. which distribution is the best? I tried with Debian ( the net install version) but I get the message "remaping the kernel... booting linux..." and it stops there. What may be the problem?
    Thanks for your help

Debian and Gentoo are the only distributions I know of that have been ported to the SPARC architecture, but you might also look at Fedora Core.
